Jude Bellingham remains doubtful to face Valencia as Real Madrid sweat on fitness

Following an ankle injury sustained earlier this month while representing Girona, Jude Bellingham is now in the final stages of his recovery process. His absence has been keenly felt by Real Madrid, with hopes pinned on his fitness for the upcoming clash against Valencia this Saturday. Bellingham, the talented English midfielder, has made a significant impact during his debut season with Los Blancos, making his absence all the more challenging for the team.

Despite adhering to a prescribed rehabilitation plan, Bellingham has yet to participate in group training sessions alongside his Real Madrid teammates. Reports from Diario AS indicate that medical clearance has not been granted, casting doubt on his inclusion in the matchday squad for the encounter at the Mestalla.

Even if Bellingham manages to attain fitness in time, he is unlikely to feature as a starter against Valencia. However, there remains a window of opportunity for him to make a cameo appearance. The primary aim is for him to gain some minutes on the pitch against Los Che, with the possibility of a starting role against RB Leipzig in the second leg of Real Madrid’s Champions League round of 16 tie against the German side, contingent upon his readiness and health.

The trajectory of Bellingham’s recovery over the next few days remains uncertain. A setback would represent a missed chance for Real Madrid in their fixture against Valencia. Nonetheless, manager Carlo Ancelotti is cognizant of the need to exercise caution and not rush Bellingham’s return prematurely.
