Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag demands Fulham apology over Bruno Fernandes TikTok and more protection for his captain

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has expressed his displeasure with Fulham’s recent TikTok post, which took a light-hearted jab at Bruno Fernandes, insinuating that he had dived during their match against United last Saturday. Ten Hag not only calls for an apology from Fulham but also highlights the need for referees to offer more protection to Fernandes, given that he is often targeted by opposing teams.
In the aftermath of Manchester United’s victory over Fulham, the official TikTok account of Fulham Football Club released a video mocking Bruno Fernandes for what they perceived as a dive during the match. Despite Fernandes sustaining an injury during that game, he managed to recover in time to participate in Wednesday’s FA Cup fixture against Nottingham Forest. In that match, he notably assisted Casemiro’s late winning goal from a free-kick.
Erik ten Hag, while clarifying that he personally did not view the TikTok video, expressed his disapproval of its content, emphasizing that such actions are inappropriate for a club to undertake. He firmly asserts that Fulham should issue an apology for their actions.
Furthermore, Fernandes’ resilience was evident in the match against Nottingham Forest, as he endured physical challenges, including a throat grab by Forest defender Felipe. These incidents underscore the importance of providing Fernandes with adequate protection on the field, as he continues to be a key figure for Manchester United.
