Chelsea are expected to face a profit and sustainability charge from the Premier League, from breaches committed under the ownership of Roman Abramovich

The Premier League is on the verge of implementing a financial accountability measure against Chelsea, citing breaches that occurred under the ownership of Roman Abramovich.

According to reports from Football Insider, Chelsea is bracing for charges stemming from their conduct under the tenure of former owner Roman Abramovich, with repercussions expected in the near future.

Last summer, UEFA fined Chelsea £8.6 million for historical infractions that transpired under Abramovich’s leadership. Without Chelsea’s voluntary disclosure of these violations, the penalties could have been significantly harsher.

Chelsea is optimistic that collaboration with the Premier League’s new ownership structure might lead to a reduction in the severity of the impending sanctions.

Nevertheless, Chelsea’s new proprietors are resolute in their assertion that they have not contravened any financial regulations amidst the change in ownership.
