Officially, Victor Osimhen Has Stated That He Will Be Joining Chelsea this January on one Condition.

One of Chelsea Football Club’s primary objectives for the upcoming summer transfer window is to secure a top-tier striker to enhance their attacking options. Victor Osimhen, who plays for Napoli, has emerged as the leading candidate for this role. Osimhen has been instrumental in Napoli’s success, contributing significantly to their first league title since 1991 by scoring an impressive 26 goals in 32 Serie A matches last season. He has continued to display remarkable form this season, with 14 goals in 22 league games.
Osimhen’s outstanding performances have not gone unnoticed, attracting interest from several of Europe’s elite clubs. Among those, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly in a close contest to secure his signature. However, acquiring Osimhen will not come cheap, as Napoli is intent on receiving a fee close to the release clause in his contract, estimated to be around £113 million.
To manage this hefty financial outlay, Chelsea might need to streamline their squad by offloading several players. Among those rumored to be on the selling block are Trevoh Chalobah, Armando Broja, and possibly Conor Gallagher, who has attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Despite the significant cost, Chelsea is reportedly exploring strategies to make the deal more feasible. According to the Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea has proposed a package deal to Napoli that includes a cash payment as well as two players. The offer involves Romelu Lukaku, who is currently performing well on loan at Roma, along with an unnamed young talent. Chelsea has suggested a combined monetary offer in the range of €80 to €90 million.
This proposed deal has been formally communicated to Napoli as Chelsea has “initiated contact” to express their willingness to proceed with this exchange. However, Napoli has yet to respond to this proposal, possibly waiting to see if Paris Saint-Germain will also put forward a competitive offer.
Interestingly, sources from TEAMtalk have revealed that Osimhen holds a personal affinity for Chelsea, having grown up idolizing Didier Drogba, one of Chelsea’s legendary African strikers. This emotional connection might give Chelsea an edge in their pursuit.
The potential acceptance of Chelsea’s offer by Napoli remains uncertain. Although Napoli’s potential sports director, Giovanni Manna, is reportedly a great admirer of Lukaku and might be inclined to consider a deal involving him. Chelsea remains committed to doing whatever it takes to bring Osimhen to Stamford Bridge, prepared to reorganize their squad and finances to make a compelling offer for the summer transfer window.
