Manchester United is open to parting ways with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, setting his transfer fee at £10 million amid interest from Serie A giants Inter Milan, as TuttoMercatoWeb reports. The defender saw limited action at the beginning of last season due to injuries but solidified his place in the lineup towards the end, highlighted by a standout performance in the FA Cup final against Manchester City where he effectively managed Jeremy Doku.

Although Wan-Bissaka showed improved form, his future at United remains uncertain with his contract due to expire in the summer of 2025, and no current negotiations underway for an extension. Inter Milan, following discussions with their new management, sees him as a key acquisition and is willing to offer a three-year deal with a weekly wage of £44,000.

Should Wan-Bissaka move to Inter Milan, he could potentially fill the void left by Denzel Dumfries, who appears likely to exit with no extension in place beyond June 2025. Given Wan-Bissaka’s defensive strengths, evidenced during his impressive showing at Wembley, some believe Manchester United should hold out for a higher transfer fee. Originally purchased for £50 million, his substantial defensive contributions, especially notable in high-stakes matches, underscore his value.

Yet, his position at Manchester United remains precarious. Diogo Dalot, who temporarily shifted to left-back due to injuries to other squad members, is expected to revert to his natural position on the right, potentially relegating Wan-Bissaka to a backup role. United’s preference under manager Erik ten Hag might lean towards a more offensive-minded right-back, particularly if Ten Hag stays at the helm.

United’s interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, who could be signed for about £34 million thanks to a release clause that expires mid-June, adds to the speculation. Funding Frimpong’s signing might require maximizing Wan-Bissaka’s sale price, especially given he is in his prime at 26 years old. Although several Premier League clubs might offer more attractive fees and salaries, Wan-Bissaka’s preference to join Inter could see United settling for a lesser amount.
