“I gave by best to England and this is how the choose to repay me by kicking me off”-Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has finally broken silence after being kicked out of Garath Southgate England Squad

Harry Maguire, a defender for Manchester United, has expressed his deep disappointment over England’s absence from Euro 2024. As a central defender, Maguire has been a regular starter for the national team, delivering strong performances in past major tournaments.

Maguire had aimed to recover from a calf injury that sidelined him since April, missing the FA Cup final victory against Manchester City. Despite being included in Gareth Southgate’s provisional squad for the German tournament, he has been unable to regain his fitness in time.

In a social media post, Maguire shared his feelings: “I am disappointed not to have been selected to play for England in the Euros this summer. I’ve been attempting to repair a calf injury, but I’m not improving. Perhaps I overworked myself in an effort to achieve. I’m simply really devastated.”

He emphasized the significance of representing England: “The biggest honor for me is to represent England. For me, it is everything. If I am unable to contribute to the team as a player, I, like the rest of the country, will cheer them on as a fan. Boys, go win it.”

Looking ahead, Maguire plans to focus on his recovery with Manchester United’s medical team in preparation for the upcoming season. The club has expressed its support, wishing him well in his recovery during the offseason.

Meanwhile, Manchester United teammates Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo received positive news with their inclusion in England’s final squad for the Euros. Both players will join the Three Lions in Germany, ready to compete in the prestigious tournament.
