Bruno Fernandes has lavished praise on his fellow Portuguese international, Francisco Conceição, suggesting he would be an excellent addition to Manchester United.
Following a strong finish to the previous season with Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes kick-started his preparations for the 2024 European Championship by netting two goals in a match against Finland on Tuesday evening.
Entering the game at halftime alongside his club teammate Diogo Dalot, Fernandes made an immediate impact. He struck a remarkable goal from outside the penalty area, increasing Portugal’s lead to 3-0, and later added a composed finish to secure their fourth and final goal.
In his post-match comments, the United captain was full of admiration for the 21-year-old right winger Francisco Conceição, who provided the assists for both of Fernandes’ goals.
“Francisco had a very good game; he is an electric player, and without the ball, he works a lot,” Fernandes shared with Mais Futebo. “In reacting to loss, he is very quick and well-positioned. You can see that he was trained by his father, who cares a lot about these details. We want players who can provide different qualities so we can be complete as a group.”
Fernandes was referring to Conceição’s father, Sérgio Conceição, the current manager of FC Porto. Francisco has been exceptional this season at Porto, scoring eight goals and providing eight assists in 43 appearances.
With a valuation of just under £13 million according to Transfermarkt, Conceição could be an ideal acquisition for United. Considering potential departures of Antony and Facundo Pellistri this summer, United will likely be in the market for a right winger to compete with Amad Diallo.
Like Amad, Conceição is left-footed and has a knack for both creating and scoring goals. This ability would perfectly complement central players like Rasmus Højlund and Fernandes, adding a versatile and dynamic edge to the squad.
