Jarrad Branthwaite to Manchester United: Deal Near Completion with Everton’s Demand for Lindelof Inclusion

Everton is targeting Victor Lindelof as a key part of Jarrad Branthwaite’s transfer to Manchester United.

A couple of nights ago, reports surfaced that Manchester United had reached an agreement on personal terms with Jarrad Branthwaite, the promising 21-year-old centre-back from Everton, in anticipation of a summer transfer.

Recently, Manchester United put forward an initial bid of £45 million for the young England international. However, it seems likely that Everton will reject this offer. Despite this, there are indications that Manchester United remains optimistic about finalizing the transfer by the end of the month. Everton has made it clear that they will only part with Branthwaite for a substantial fee of £80 million.

In the search for Branthwaite’s replacement, Everton has considered several options. Northern Ireland’s Dan Ballard was mentioned, but recent updates suggest that another potential target might actually benefit Manchester United’s pursuit of Branthwaite.

HITC has reported, “Everton has pinpointed potential replacements for English defender Jarrad Branthwaite, who is on the verge of moving to Manchester United. One player previously targeted by the Toffees is Victor Lindelof, with Manchester United willing to let the Swedish defender leave Old Trafford this summer.”

Lindelof’s season has seen him oscillate in and out of Manchester United’s starting lineup. With Branthwaite’s potential arrival at Old Trafford, Lindelof might consider this summer as the right time for a move.

Furthermore, HITC notes that “another name on Everton’s radar is Hull City’s Jacob Greaves, a 24-year-old defender among several options the club is considering.”

Competition for Lindelof’s signature could be fierce, as both Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have also shown interest in the 29-year-old Swedish international.

Everton’s pursuit of Lindelof could play a crucial role in Manchester United’s efforts to secure Branthwaite. Lindelof might be included as part of the deal for Branthwaite, or at the very least, United could leverage Everton’s interest in Lindelof to negotiate a lower transfer fee for Branthwaite.

For Lindelof, a move to Everton might be appealing. He would not have to relocate and could continue competing at the highest level in the Premier League, a league he knows well. This potential transfer could thus satisfy both clubs’ needs, with Everton gaining a seasoned defender and Manchester United securing a promising young talent.
