After the Profitability and Sustainability deadline passed, Chelsea made an improved offer to Gallagher, making him one of the highest-paid midfielders at the club. However, the 24-year-old was seeking a longer contract than the two-year deal, with an additional one-year option, that Chelsea offered.
Future Plans for Gallagher
Despite the agreement between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid, Gallagher has not yet agreed to personal terms with the Spanish club. He has made it clear that he will only sign a contract if the terms are satisfactory. Tottenham Hotspur has also expressed interest in Gallagher, but he still has the option to stay at Chelsea until his contract expires in 2025.
