Chelsea has made €50million bid for La Liga Star who scored more goals than Vinicuis Jr last season

According to reports, Chelsea attempted to sign Atletico Madrid’s highly-rated young striker Samu Omorodion this summer, making three bids, one of which was valued at €50 million.

However, despite these offers, Chelsea appears to be having difficulty convincing Atletico to sell the 20-year-old, as reported by the Spanish publication Relevo.

Omorodion could be an appealing option for Chelsea, but Atletico Madrid has rejected all of the west London club’s proposals so far. As a result, Chelsea might need to explore other options unless they are willing to pay a very high fee for the Spain Under-21 international.

It is not surprising that Atletico wants to retain Omorodion, who is seen as a promising talent after an impressive loan spell at Deportivo Alaves last season.

According to Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing, Chelsea has not yet decided between Omorodion and Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran.

Considering Chelsea’s apparent difficulty in convincing Atletico to part with Omorodion, it might be sensible for them to shift their focus back to Duran at this point. As Romano noted in a recent update, Duran already has Premier League experience, while Omorodion would be moving from Spain for the first time in his career.

“Chelsea has two options: with Jhon Duran, they already have the player’s approval. Duran wants to join Chelsea and has expressed his willingness, but he also has other options,” Romano explained.

“With Omorodion, he is still very happy in Madrid and does not wish to leave. He wants to continue playing for the club that believed in him a year ago when he was relatively unknown. Therefore, Chelsea is trying to reach an agreement with the player before making another attempt with Atletico Madrid.”

Romano added, “My understanding is that there has been no final decision between these two strikers. The club is working on both potential deals and waiting to make a choice. It remains an open situation with no clear preference as of now.

“Negotiations are ongoing between the club and the players. Duran has the advantage of being more familiar with Premier League football, but Omorodion’s potential is also significant, making the decision challenging. Premier League experience certainly benefits Duran, but we will have to see what unfolds.”
