Chelsea has started negotiations with Barcelona to potentially acquire the young forward Marc Guiu, who is available for a relatively low release clause of €6 million.
Guiu captured significant attention in October when he made a memorable debut for Barcelona, becoming the club’s youngest and quickest debutant to score a goal. He netted the winning goal against Athletic Bilbao just 23 seconds after entering the game. Furthermore, he scored another goal during a Champions League match against Royal Antwerp, concluding his impressive debut season with two goals in seven senior team appearances.
According to the Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, Chelsea has approached Guiu, who might be secured for merely €6 million (approximately £5 million). The 18-year-old’s current contract is set to expire in 2025, and Barcelona has encountered difficulties in getting him to sign a new, enhanced contract.
