HERE WE GO: Manchester United agreed £90m deal to secure the signing of 26yr old Striker, Club wanted £120m at first but finally accepts £90m, Medical date fixed already, jersey number picked as player will be unveil soon – Welcome to Old Trafford
Manchester United has reportedly reached a preliminary agreement with the agent of Bologna’s rising star, Joshua Zirkzee, regarding agent fees.
In recent days, Zirkzee has become United’s main target for the striker position as the club aims to find a dependable forward to compete with Rasmus Hojlund for a starting role. Zirkzee’s arrival would bolster the team’s attacking options and serve as a replacement for Anthony Martial, who is scheduled to leave Old Trafford at the end of the current month.
Previously, AC Milan appeared to be the frontrunner in securing Zirkzee’s services, even receiving the player’s approval to pursue him. However, negotiations with Milan hit a snag over the commission demanded by Zirkzee’s agent, Kia Joorabchian. Initially, Joorabchian requested a substantial €15 million, a fee Milan was unwilling to meet. Despite reducing the asking price, Milan still refused to comply, creating an opportunity for Manchester United.
According to a recent report by The Peoples Person, Joorabchian is now willing to offer Manchester United a significant discount on his commission to facilitate Zirkzee’s move to Old Trafford. It is reported that Joorabchian now seeks only £8 million from Erik ten Hag’s team.
Journalist Nick Semeraro has provided an update on the situation, indicating that an agreement has been reached between United and Joorabchian over the agent fees. Semeraro shared on X (formerly Twitter), “Manchester United have found an agreement in principle with Kia Joorabchian on the payment of commissions.”
“Bologna is aware of the Red Devils’ willingness to pay the clause (as anticipated yesterday). Now it depends on the will of the player, who is currently involved in the European football championships.”
Despite United’s progress, Milan remains confident in their position and hopeful that the player will choose them. Semeraro’s report is supported by Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth, who notes that the final decision now rests with Zirkzee.
“Manchester United is expected to meet the €40 million release clause in Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee’s contract. If they do, it’s up to the player to decide whether he wants to talk. Strong interest remains from other clubs.”
Zirkzee is presently with the Dutch national team, participating in Euro 2024, and his decision will be pivotal in determining his next club.
