Chelsea Star and England international Cole Palmer has tweeted this after not being given a chance to play for England at Euros
Cole Palmer, who is a well-known and highly regarded player for Chelsea, did not participate as a substitute for the England national team for the second consecutive game.
In another disappointing performance, the Three Lions were held to a 1-1 draw against Denmark.
Early in the match, Harry Kane scored from close range to give England the lead, but an outstanding strike from Sporting midfielder Morten Hjulmand soon after secured an equalizer for Denmark.
Despite Palmer having an outstanding season, during which he scored 27 goals and provided 15 assists across all competitions, England’s manager, Gareth Southgate, decided not to play him, even when the team desperately needed creativity.
Many fans and analysts took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to criticize Southgate for his unexpected decision to leave Palmer on the bench.
Following Southgate’s decision, Cole Palmer shared a restrained message.
After the game, Palmer posted a statement on social media, though he did not directly address the issue.
“God’s timing is the best,” he remarked in a muted tone. “On to the next.”
