Agreement reached!! Here we Go! Fabrizio Romano confirmed – Manchester United have reached agreement with £45m superstar – Announcement imminent

Manchester United are in search of a top-tier defensive midfielder to replace Casemiro, and once again, the spotlight is on Manuel Ugarte.

Last year, the Red Devils made a move to acquire the Uruguayan international from Sporting CP. However, Ugarte ultimately joined Paris Saint-Germain instead. Now, reports from L’Equipe indicate that Manchester United have submitted an undisclosed offer to secure Ugarte this summer.

Despite this, PSG has rejected the offer, deeming it ‘insufficient.’ According to The Telegraph, PSG paid over £50 million to sign the South American midfielder from Sporting CP last summer and are looking to recover that amount from his sale.

The British media outlet also mentioned that Manchester United are eyeing Ugarte as a replacement for the experienced Brazilian, Casemiro, at Old Trafford.

Currently, Ugarte, who earns £100,000 a week, is participating in the Copa America. He played the full 90 minutes in Uruguay’s opening group game against Panama, which they won 3-1.

During his time with PSG, Ugarte was a regular starter in the first half of the season. However, his appearances dwindled in the latter half, with him starting only five matches in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League. In the knockout stages, his role was significantly reduced, featuring for just 23 minutes in total.

Do you believe Ugarte has what it takes to replace Casemiro at Manchester United?
