THREE CHELSEA Flops has left Stamford Bridge to Morning to Join Premier League Giants as Boehly plans take shape

In the past two years, Chelsea Football Club has experienced significant upheaval. Last summer, the club saw the departure of several key players, including N’Golo Kante, Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Despite this massive turnover in personnel, Chelsea’s performance only saw a marginal improvement, rising from a 10th place finish in 2023 to sixth place last season.

While further changes are anticipated this season, only a few player exits have been officially confirmed so far. Among these, one departure stands out, not just for the on-field impact but also for the void it will leave in the team’s dynamic.

Thiago Silva announced his departure from Chelsea back in May, revealing his plans to return to Brazil and rejoin Fluminense, the club he played for before moving to AC Milan in 2009. Silva had a remarkable season last year, especially given the defensive injuries that limited his playing time. His professionalism and resilience in managing the demands of the game were commendable, making his departure a significant loss for Chelsea. Silva, who captained the team on several occasions, will be sorely missed in the locker room.

Additionally, young right-backs Josh Brooking and Noah Hay have also left the club, with their contracts expiring today. These departures leave Chelsea with just three confirmed exits so far this summer.

However, the transfer window is still open, and more players might leave in the coming weeks. Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah are among the players attracting interest from other clubs. With Gallagher having only one year left on his contract, Chelsea faces a decision: either sell him now or offer him a new contract, as letting him leave for free next summer would be undesirable.

As Chelsea navigates these changes, the club aims to rebuild and strengthen its squad to achieve better results in the upcoming season. The departure of seasoned players like Thiago Silva will undoubtedly pose a challenge, but it also provides an opportunity for new talent to step up and fill the void. The coming weeks will be crucial as Chelsea seeks to finalize its squad and prepare for the new season ahead.
