BARCELONA’S TRANSFER INTEREST CONFIRMED BY CLUB OWNER

On Wednesday, it was confirmed that Barcelona, one of the premier clubs in La Liga, has shown interest in a prominent player from Hull City, a team competing in the Championship. The focus of Barcelona’s recruitment efforts, which are spearheaded by Deco, is on winger Jaden Philogene.

Philogene has recently garnered significant attention in Catalunya due to reports suggesting Barcelona is considering him as a potential addition to their summer transfer list. The club is looking to strengthen their options on the left wing, and Philogene’s remarkable record of 12 goals and six assists in England’s second-tier league last season has made him an attractive candidate.

Hull City owner Acun Ilicali addressed these rumors in a media interview. Speaking with talkSPORT, and as reported by Diario Sport, Ilicali confirmed Barcelona’s interest:

“Yes, Barça is indeed interested in Philogene, but I’ve already told the fans that I don’t need to sell anyone. I haven’t come to football to make money, that’s clear to me.”

Ilicali elaborated further, stating:

“For me, if a player wants to change clubs and says so, it’s not the end of the world. Sometimes it’s necessary to make a certain sale to then make the bigger project. We’ll see what happens in this case.”
