DONE DEAL: Manchester United currently unveiling their second signing at London Carrington after reaching 5yrs agreement – Medical completed as announcement will be done today

Manchester United has officially unveiled their second signing at the London Carrington training ground, following the completion of a five-year contract agreement. The player has already undergone a medical examination, with the club expected to make a formal announcement later today.

In the meantime, Manchester United is also focusing on securing the services of Manuel Ugarte, with a positive outlook on closing the deal. Despite not having made any signings in the current transfer window, the club appears to be progressing on several potential acquisitions.

At the top of their wishlist are Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee, while the club is also keen on adding a new midfielder to their ranks. Manuel Ugarte has been identified as a strong candidate for this role. Although there had been a lull in the discussions, new developments have emerged recently.

Christopher Michel, a journalist from Sport1, has reported that Manchester United is intensifying their efforts to sign Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain. The club remains hopeful that an agreement can be reached. PSG is seeking around £51 million (60 million euros) for the Uruguayan player, while Manchester United is aiming to pay closer to £35.5 million (42 million euros). There is a general consensus that both clubs might settle for a fee around the £43 million mark.

Christopher Michel shared the latest updates on this development in a post on X. Last season, Ugarte made 37 appearances across all competitions during his debut campaign in Ligue 1. However, after just a year at the club, PSG seems prepared to part ways with the midfielder.

Although Manchester United does not urgently need a defensive midfielder as long as Casemiro remains with the team, the Brazilian’s future at the club is currently uncertain. Therefore, securing Ugarte could be a strategic move for the Red Devils, ensuring they have a solid option in the midfield.
