One such ambitious plan is Chelsea’s attempt to bring Victor Osimhen to Stamford Bridge this summer. The Nigerian striker is the hottest commodity in this transfer window, highly sought after but difficult to acquire. The primary challenge is Napoli’s asking price of £84.6 million, a sum that few clubs can realistically afford, even for a player of Osimhen’s quality.

Chelsea, however, believe they have a strategy to significantly reduce Napoli’s fee. According to TEAMtalk, the Blues are considering including some of their surplus players as part of the deal for Osimhen.

One likely candidate is Romelu Lukaku, who is expected to leave West London and has attracted Napoli’s interest as a potential replacement for their departing star. Currently, there is an £8.5 million difference in Chelsea and Napoli’s valuation of Lukaku, but it seems increasingly likely that he will be part of the trade in some capacity.

But Lukaku isn’t the only player Chelsea is willing to offer. Other names being considered include fellow striker Armando Broja, center-back Trevoh Chalobah, and Cesare Casadei. While Napoli may not be particularly interested in Broja and are considering other defenders besides Chalobah, Casadei has captured their attention. TEAMtalk reports that Napoli see the Italian as a potential successor to Piotr Zielinski, who recently transferred to Inter Milan. Chelsea value Casadei at around £16.9 million, and if Napoli agrees with this valuation, and Lukaku’s inclusion offsets a substantial part of Osimhen’s £84.6 million fee, Chelsea could move closer to a more manageable deal for the 25-year-old striker.
