Manchester United Set to Sign £60m Star Midfielder Following Impressive Season

Manchester United have reached a significant milestone in their transfer activities, finalizing an agreement to acquire a £60 million superstar, who notably challenged Rodri last season. The deal is expected to conclude today, with an official announcement imminent.

One of the most anticipated transfers for the Red Devils is the acquisition of Manuel Ugarte. The Uruguayan midfielder has been on Manchester United’s radar, with sources suggesting he is nearing a move to Old Trafford.

According to a report by Record, Manchester United has entered negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to sign Ugarte. The French champions are prepared to accept a fee of £50.4 million (equivalent to 60 million euros) for the South American player.

PSG initially paid £50.4 million to bring Ugarte from Sporting CP last summer and now seek to recoup the same amount from his sale. Portuguese media outlet Record claims that PSG plans to utilize the funds from Ugarte’s transfer to pursue Joao Neves as his replacement.

PSG is reportedly ready to make an offer of approximately 75 million euros to Benfica for the defensive midfielder. However, Record notes that Benfica will only consider releasing Neves if his 120 million euros release clause is met.

According to O Jogo, Neves is keen on joining PSG, adding another layer of complexity to the ongoing transfer saga.

As Manchester United prepares for the upcoming season, reinforcing their midfield and defense remains a priority. Following the expiration of Sofyan Amrabat’s loan spell last month, the No.6 position is a critical area that requires attention. Additionally, Casemiro’s performance last season was subpar, suggesting the need for a more reliable replacement for the Brazilian veteran.

Ugarte, who made a name for himself with Sporting CP in Portugal, joined PSG last summer and has since proven his capabilities. His impressive performance at the Copa America, where Uruguay secured the Bronze medal, further highlights his potential.

Manchester United must now decide whether to agree to the £50.4 million fee for Manuel Ugarte. Is he the right fit for the team’s future ambitions?
