Agreement reached: Jubilation at Old Trafford as Man United completes the signing of £60m superstar who gave Lionel Messi tough time last season, player medical has been booked to hold today – Here we go

Excitement is building at Old Trafford as Manchester United is on the verge of completing a major transfer deal. The club has reached an agreement to sign a superstar worth £60 million, a player who notably challenged Lionel Messi on the pitch last season. The deal has progressed to the point where the player’s medical examination is scheduled for today, signaling that the transfer is nearly complete.

As the transfer deadline looms, Manchester United has been actively searching for a new holding midfielder to strengthen their squad. Their top target has been Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) Manuel Ugarte. However, the Red Devils have faced challenges in meeting PSG’s £51 million asking price for the 23-year-old midfielder.

According to renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United is now exploring the option of securing Ugarte on a loan deal with a mandatory purchase clause. This would allow the club to secure his services while meeting financial constraints. The negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing, with Ugarte’s agent, Jorge Mendes, also engaged in discussions with PSG. Ugarte himself is eager to join the Premier League giants, having already agreed to personal terms on a long-term contract.

Manchester United is highly focused on acquiring Ugarte, making him their top priority as the transfer deadline approaches. The player is reportedly very enthusiastic about the move and has been waiting since the end of July for it to materialize. Despite their efforts, United has been unable to convince PSG to lower their asking price. As a result, they are now considering an alternative approach that might be more acceptable to the French club.

One potential solution is a loan deal with a commitment to buy Ugarte for the original asking price. This arrangement could be tempting for PSG, especially considering the financial implications of the ongoing transfer market. The club recently faced a setback with striker Gonçalo Ramos suffering a fractured ankle, which may push them to secure a high-profile forward before the transfer window closes.

While PSG has the financial resources to invest in a new striker, they might prefer to complete an outgoing transfer first to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations. From this perspective, accepting Manchester United’s proposal for Ugarte could be a practical move, as it would guarantee them a substantial fee next summer.

Additionally, PSG is already preparing for Ugarte’s potential departure by signing Joao Neves from Benfica, ensuring they have a replacement ready. This preparation further supports the likelihood that the deal between Manchester United and PSG could be finalized soon, bringing Ugarte to Old Trafford in the near future.
