“The need to pack Thier things and leave my club I work with only 25 players-Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has terminated the contract of 2 keys starting Eleven players
With the transfer window rapidly approaching its final days, Chelsea is scrambling to find new homes for a number of players who have fallen out of favor with their head coach, Enzo Maresca. According to reports, Maresca has made it clear that he has little to no interest in these players, and Chelsea is now working under the hopeful assumption that they can find buyers for all of them before time runs out.
It’s interesting to note that the number of players currently being shopped around doesn’t quite match up with the “15-20” figure that Maresca originally suggested would be let go. This could be partly because it seems the Chelsea head coach isn’t entirely aware of the exact size of his squad. Additionally, there are some players, like David Datro Fofana, who were expected to be training separately from the first team but are reportedly staying put. This means that whether Maresca likes it or not, these players will likely have to be brought back into the fold, which may create an awkward situation for everyone involved.
As it stands, we believe there are 14 players who are definitely on the market, and here’s where we think they could end up:
**Petrovic Djordje: Strasbourg**
Petrovic likely ended last season feeling pretty confident about his future at Chelsea. However, that confidence was shaken when the club brought in Filip Jorgensen, increasing their number of goalkeepers to eight. Now, with rumors of a potential ninth goalkeeper, Mike Penders from Genk, on the way, it’s clear that Petrovic is not in Maresca’s plans. Word has it that Chelsea is looking to offload him to their sister club in Ligue 1, Strasbourg.
**Keynote Speaker: Al Ittihad**
After seeing him play, it’s unlikely that a Premier League move is in the cards for this player. On top of that, his hefty £150,000 per week salary makes it improbable that he would be part of any potential swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku and Victor Osimhen unless he’s willing to take a significant pay cut. Although Chelsea turned down an initial offer, it seems that Al Ittihad, a Saudi Arabian club, is still interested. At this point, Chelsea may have to accept whatever they can get.
**Lucas Bergstrom: IFK Norrkoping**
Bergstrom didn’t see much action last season with Sweden’s tenth-place team, so perhaps a move to the eleventh-place team might give him a better shot at regular playing time.
**Trevoh Chalobah: Newcastle**
Despite showing promise under Mauricio Pochettino last season, Chalobah didn’t even make it onto Chelsea’s pre-season tour of the United States. We believe he’s one of the top four center-backs at Chelsea, but the club seems more focused on making a profit. Newcastle could end up with a bargain if they sign Chalobah, as he could be the next Marc Guehi at a fraction of the cost.
**Ben Chilwell: Manchester United**
Manchester United showed interest in Chilwell last summer, and now it appears Chelsea has offered him to the Red Devils again. United’s issues at left-back persist, with Diogo Dalot once again forced to play out of position in their recent win over Fulham. While adding another injury-prone player might not be the wisest move, United could potentially rotate between Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, and Chilwell to cover the position. However, given Chilwell’s recent injury record, Shaw may end up getting more playing time than expected.
As the transfer window draws to a close, Chelsea finds itself in a challenging situation. They must navigate the complexities of the market while trying to offload players that Maresca has no interest in keeping. The next week will be crucial as the club looks to finalize these deals and trim down the squad.
