BREAKING NEWS: Coming live from Fabrizio Romano, “I didn’t have the privilege to spend most of my career with rashford. But one thing I will tell the world he’s a great lad and he’s better than mbappe I spoke to him yesterday and honestly he’s passing through a lot, he’s trying hard to come out of it but the press and the england fans are not helping. He cares a lot about the club but right now he’s really in a dark place”. Former united star Ibrahimovic has called for united to let him leave the Club either permanent or on loan or give him all the support he needs. According to Reports, Ibrahimovic believes it might be best for Marcus Rashford to leave the Red Devils this summer. He stated that the Englishman has been stuck at the club and needs a change to fulfill his potential. No one really knows what his mentality is but he’s going through a lot- Former Manchester United star Nicky Butt expresses concern over Marcus Rashford.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the former Manchester United striker, has recently hinted that Marcus Rashford might benefit from leaving Manchester United this summer. Ibrahimovic, known for his straightforward opinions, suggests that Rashford has been at the club for too long, and a fresh start elsewhere could help him realize his full potential.
In a discussion on talkSPORT, Nicky Butt, another former Manchester United player, expressed a similar viewpoint. Butt, who has been familiar with Rashford since he was a young boy, voiced his concerns about the forward’s current performance levels. He emphasized that while Rashford is undoubtedly a talented player, he has struggled to consistently showcase his abilities in recent years. Butt remarked, “I’ve known Marcus since he was around eight or nine years old at Manchester United. We always had high hopes for him. I still believe he has the talent to become one of the best players in the world.”
However, Butt also acknowledged that Rashford’s form at Manchester United has been disappointing in recent seasons. He suggested that perhaps a change of environment might be necessary for Rashford to rediscover his best form. “It’s unfortunate to see him not thriving at Manchester United over the past few years,” Butt observed. “We’ve all been waiting for him to turn things around, but maybe it’s time for a change. While we don’t fully know his mindset, there’s no denying the talent he possesses. He’s an exceptional footballer.”
Butt also addressed the criticism that Rashford has faced from both fans and pundits, who have often questioned his commitment and body language on the field. Defending Rashford, Butt said, “People claim he doesn’t care, but I know he does. He’s a dedicated young man who cares deeply about his performance. However, perhaps it’s time for him to move to a different club where he can breathe easier and not be under constant pressure. Unfortunately, he has become a scapegoat for Manchester United’s struggles, but it’s not just him—the entire team needs to step up.”
Rashford’s difficulties have been particularly evident since the start of the 2023-24 season. Despite logging 245 minutes in Premier League matches, he has yet to score a goal or provide an assist. Additionally, he played 83 minutes in the Community Shield but failed to make a significant impact. While Rashford has come close to creating several goal-scoring opportunities—most notably with missed chances by teammates Joshua Zirkzee and Alejandro Garnacho—his overall contribution has fallen short of expectations.
His struggles were also apparent last season, when he managed just seven goals and three assists in 33 Premier League appearances. In the UEFA Champions League, he added two more assists, but these contributions were far below what was expected of him. Despite rumors linking Rashford to a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this summer, he remains at Manchester United.
The ongoing concerns about Rashford’s future at Manchester United have led to growing speculation that a change of clubs might be necessary for him to reignite his career. Both Ibrahimovic and Butt believe that a new environment could be the catalyst Rashford needs to unlock the immense potential he has shown since his youth days at the club.
