HERE WE GO: Player representatives now in London to complete paperwork for the arrival of third Man united signing, bid approved as deal set to be official today

Manchester United are on the verge of finalizing their third signing of the transfer window, with player representatives currently in London to finalize the paperwork. The club is set to make an official bid for Sander Berge, and it seems the player is ready to make the switch.

Recently, Manchester United have been strongly linked with Sander Berge from Burnley. Having already secured a defender and a forward, strengthening their midfield is the next logical step for the team.

Given the current financial constraints, manager Erik ten Hag is unlikely to make a major splash in the transfer market unless a high-value player is sold first. With no such deals on the horizon, United are focusing on more affordable options to bolster their midfield.

TEAMtalk reports that Berge has given his approval to join Manchester United. The club is now preparing an enticing offer to bring him in. While personal terms with the Norwegian are expected to be straightforward, the main hurdle remains agreeing on a transfer fee with Burnley.

Burnley is hoping to secure around £30 million for Berge, but United’s bid is anticipated to be close to £25 million, potentially with additional performance-related bonuses.

Although Burnley faced relegation last season, Berge is a high-quality player who could significantly enhance Manchester United’s squad. The team needs a defensive midfielder who can support and eventually succeed the aging Casemiro, and Berge fits this requirement.

Manchester United’s current situation, where they must sell players before making new purchases, could mean that Berge’s transfer might not be finalized until the end of the transfer window. Additionally, the club is still pursuing other targets such as Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt.

Do you believe Sander Berge would be a valuable addition to Manchester United? Share your thoughts in the comments.
