“He is the worst signing of the season. How did we sign a player like that? He literally cannot do anything with the ball. We could have beaten Tottenham Hotspur in the first half if not for him”-Man Utd fans all make the same complaint about one United star in who lead to Manchester United loss vs Sqpurs

Manchester United supporters have voiced their disappointment over the lackluster display of one player during the first half of their Premier League encounter with Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham made an early statement at Old Trafford when Brennan Johnson found the back of the net in the third minute, giving the visitors a 1-0 advantage going into halftime.

Throughout the game, United seemed out of sync, with a key moment happening right before the half ended when Bruno Fernandes, the team’s captain, was shown a straight red card for a harsh challenge on James Maddison.

Yet, it was Joshua Zirkzee who particularly frustrated fans. He squandered United’s best opportunity to equalize before halftime, leading to a wave of criticism on social media for his inability to help turn the game around.

One fan, posting on X, wrote: “This is probably the worst 30 minutes of football I’ve witnessed. How did Zirkzee even make it onto the team?”

Another fan chimed in: “Zirkzee is way too slow. He’s ruined United’s counterattacks. He missed a clear one-on-one chance. He’s not a finisher.”

A third fan compared Zirkzee to Erling Haaland, noting: “Zirkzee is 1.93 meters tall, while Haaland is 1.94 meters, but Zirkzee always looks like he’s reaching for the ball. He’s never in control of his shots. It’s strange.”

Another comment echoed this sentiment: “Zirkzee is always stretching for the ball. He has no natural instinct in the box for a striker.”

Things went from bad to worse for United in the second half. Just two minutes after play resumed, Swedish winger Dejan Kulusevski doubled Tottenham’s lead. Then, in the 77th minute, Dominic Solanke added a third, solidifying a dominant 3-0 win for Spurs.

This defeat extended Manchester United’s winless streak to three games, following two consecutive draws, one against Crystal Palace in the Premier League and the other against FC Twente in the Europa League. In total, United have only managed three wins in their first eight matches this season, raising concerns among fans and pundits alike.
