Just In: Dani Olmo Passes Barcelona Medicals

Barcelona is on the verge of announcing their second major signing of the summer transfer window, with Dani Olmo poised to join from RB Leipzig.

After weeks of negotiations with the Bundesliga club, the Blaugrana reached an agreement on Tuesday. Barcelona will pay a fixed transfer fee of €55 million, with an additional €7 million in performance-based variables, to secure the former La Masia trainee. Olmo has agreed to a six-year contract with the club.

Medical Examinations Completed
According to TV3, Dani Olmo has successfully completed his medical examinations, bringing him one step closer to becoming a Barcelona player.

Olmo traveled to Barcelona last night accompanied by his father, agent, and the club’s sporting director, Deco. Due to Olmo’s history of knee and shoulder injuries, the Blaugrana had planned extensive medical check-ups for the 26-year-old Spanish international.

Fortunately, Olmo passed his medicals without any issues. The official announcement of his signing is expected soon, with the club aiming to have him ready for the Joan Gamper Trophy match against AS Monaco on August 12.

Olmo will be the second addition to Barcelona’s first team this summer, following the acquisition of Pau Victor from Girona. The club is also actively pursuing Nico Williams and making efforts to re-sign Joao Cancelo on loan from Manchester City.
