‘ON ONE CONDITION’- Victor Gyokeres finally reveals the only condition that will make Him join Manchester United by January

Victor Gyokeres Reveals the Condition for Joining Manchester United by January

Manchester City is reportedly preparing to replace its outgoing director of football, Txiki Begiristain, with the same individual responsible for bringing Manchester United-linked Victor Gyokeres to the Portuguese football powerhouse, Sporting CP.

Begiristain, who is 60 years old, is expected to step down from his position at City at the end of this season. However, his successor will likely begin transitioning into the role early next year, with a six-month period set aside for a smooth handover. Reports suggest that an agreement is already in place with the person who will take over the role, someone who is well-known and respected within European football circles.

Hugo Viana is widely considered the ideal candidate for the position, and football expert Fabrizio Romano indicates that City has its sights set on Viana to replace Begiristain as director of football. This potential appointment could pose a significant challenge for Manchester United’s hopes of signing Gyokeres during future transfer windows, largely due to Viana’s current professional connection with the talented striker.

Viana has been with Sporting for six years and played a pivotal role in bringing Gyokeres to the club from Coventry City, where the striker had been playing in the Championship. Viana personally traveled to England last year to finalize the transfer. After Gyokeres’ first season in Portugal, Viana expressed satisfaction, stating, “We are happy with him” following what he described as an “excellent” debut season.

Despite this positive sentiment, Viana also recognized the fluid nature of football, admitting that “an offer may or may not come” for the striker. Though no sufficient offer seemed to materialize over the summer, Viana himself may consider pursuing Gyokeres if he moves to Manchester City.

With City having sold Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid this summer and not having signed a replacement, the club currently lacks a clear back-up for Erling Haaland. Therefore, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to think that City could reinvest the £82 million they received from Atletico by possibly activating the £84 million release clause in Gyokeres’ contract. This scenario becomes even more plausible if Viana, should he join City, decides to leverage his connection with the striker to make a move happen.
