“We want a coach like Pep Guardiola. A coach who knows how hot play A Tiki Taka Football or a good possession Football. The four coach we met knows how to dominate football and we want the best of them”-Manchester United have held ‘secret talks’ with FOUR managers to replace Erik ten Hag as they seem to have lost fate in Erik Ten Hag.

Manchester United has reportedly held confidential discussions with four prominent candidates as potential replacements for manager Erik ten Hag if he were to leave the club.

Ten Hag, now 54, is in his third season with Manchester United. His future, however, has become a subject of speculation following United’s struggles. Despite leading United to a significant 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final in June 2024, securing his position temporarily, concerns lingered. These doubts were evident last summer, as the club explored alternatives even before Ten Hag’s contract was extended through 2026.

This season has begun disappointingly for United. The team has managed to secure only one win in its last seven games—a close 2-1 win against Brentford last Saturday—raising more questions about Ten Hag’s tenure.

One potential replacement, Thomas Tuchel, was previously considered but was removed from the running after he accepted the role of England’s national team manager.

Following United’s unconvincing 1-1 draw with Fenerbahçe on Thursday, speculation over Ten Hag’s future has intensified. According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United has now discreetly engaged in talks with four other high-profile managers to potentially fill the role.

Among these candidates, former Barcelona manager Xavi is reportedly one of United’s top choices. Ten days ago, a delegation from United led by Chief Executive Omar Berrada held a private meeting with Xavi, marking their second conversation in recent months. The 44-year-old Spaniard previously led Barcelona to a La Liga title in the 2022-23 season but has been without a club since parting ways with Barcelona last year.

Another favored candidate is Thomas Frank, manager of Brentford. Frank was reportedly approached by United over the summer, along with Thomas Tuchel, Kieran McKenna, and Marco Silva.

Ruben Amorim, the current manager of Sporting Lisbon, is also on United’s shortlist. The 39-year-old has previously been linked with managerial positions at top Premier League clubs like Liverpool and West Ham but has remained committed to Sporting Lisbon.

Additionally, Edin Terzic, the former Borussia Dortmund manager, has emerged as another option. Terzic left Dortmund following a Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid and is now seen as a potential future leader for Manchester United.

As Ten Hag continues to face challenges this season, United appears to be preparing contingencies should the club decide to part ways with him.
