Viktor Gyokeres ‘fed up’ with Sporting CP, could leave soon – Portuguese outlet

Viktor Gyokeres is reportedly growing increasingly frustrated with his current circumstances at Sporting CP, as reported by Pedro Neves de Sousa of Correio Da Manha. The Swedish forward allegedly voiced his dissatisfaction in the locker room after the team suffered its third consecutive loss. This situation has fueled speculation that Gyokeres may be considering leaving the club in the near future.

Recent reports suggest that FC Barcelona has identified Gyokeres as a top candidate to strengthen their striker position. At 26 years old, he is regarded as the preferred backup option to Erling Haaland, although Lille’s Jonathan David remains a strong alternative under consideration.

Gyokeres is currently under contract with Sporting CP until 2028, and his release clause is set at €100 million. However, Barcelona reportedly believes they could negotiate a transfer for approximately €70 million.

On a positive note, Gyokeres recently achieved a significant milestone by scoring his 60th goal of 2024, solidifying his position as the leading goal scorer in the world this year.

When asked about the possibility of a summer move to Barcelona, Gyokeres responded with an enigmatic, “We will see,” hinting at a potential transfer.
