Maghnes Akliouche was instrumental in Monaco’s narrow 2-1 victory against Barcelona in a Champions League match earlier this season. Despite his outstanding performance against the Spanish giants, the French midfielder has openly expressed his admiration for the club.
In an interview, Akliouche shared his thoughts on the type of football that resonates with him. “La Liga is my favorite league because of its distinctive and fluid style of play,” he explained.
The young star also revealed his long-term aspirations, stating, “Aside from representing Monaco, my dream would be to play for Barcelona someday.”
When asked to name a player he feels is underappreciated, Akliouche didn’t hesitate to highlight Barcelona’s legendary Sergio Busquets, acknowledging the midfielder’s immense contributions to the game.
At just 22 years old, Akliouche is widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects in French football. His game is characterized by exceptional passing ability, impressive physicality, blistering pace, and clinical finishing. Comfortable in multiple roles, he primarily operates as an attacking midfielder or on the right wing. Currently valued at €40 million, Akliouche is seen as a player with the potential to reach great heights in the world of football.
