Chelsea fans call out shock player for costing them the win against Everton

On Sunday afternoon, Chelsea had a significant opportunity to climb to the top of the Premier League standings by securing a win against Everton at Goodison Park. The match presented a golden chance for the London side to establish themselves as the league leaders. Despite dominating possession with an impressive 75% and taking five shots on target, Chelsea was unable to convert their superiority into goals, resulting in a frustrating 0-0 draw.

After the match, Chelsea supporters turned their frustrations toward an unexpected target: Cole Palmer. Many fans expressed their disappointment on social media, blaming Palmer for what they saw as a missed opportunity to secure all three points. Their criticism centered on his lackluster performance during the game, which fell short of their expectations.

One fan remarked, “Palmer wasn’t at his best today. I don’t understand why he wasn’t subbed off for Felix. The energy just wasn’t there.” Another fan sarcastically added, “Wasn’t the league’s so-called best player supposed to show up today? Or maybe he’s not as incredible as people make him out to be. Stop hyping Palmer like he’s on a pedestal he doesn’t deserve.”

Some fans were even more critical, with one stating, “Cole Palmer has been awful this entire season. His stats are padded by penalties and an occasional assist.” Another comment read, “Palmer isn’t performing anywhere near the level he did last season. I don’t care if he’s still contributing with goals and assists; he’s just not the same player anymore.”

Palmer had an extraordinary debut season at Stamford Bridge, where he scored 27 goals and provided 15 assists in 48 appearances, setting high expectations for his future. While the 22-year-old has continued to deliver decent numbers this season, with 11 goals and six assists in 19 matches across all competitions, his recent performances have failed to match the exceptional standards he set during his first campaign.

As a result of the draw, Chelsea remains in second place in the Premier League table. Liverpool, who still have a game in hand, now have the chance to extend their lead at the top by going four points clear. The Reds will face Tottenham Hotspur in London, aiming to preserve their unbeaten away record as the festive season approaches.
