“Enough is enough, Why would he do something like that to me. I can’t stay here anymore. Please allow me to leave in the January transfer window” – This is according to Axel Disasi as the defender prepares to depart Chelsea after what transpired between him and Enzo Maresca yesterday

Chelsea may soon face further changes in their defensive lineup during the January transfer window, as they are already on the verge of losing a first-team defender, and another departure appears increasingly likely.

Reports have emerged indicating that Renato Veiga is preparing to leave the club, and now Axel Disasi is also rumored to be on his way out this month. The situation escalated when Enzo Maresca, Chelsea’s manager, chose to exclude Disasi from the squad for the Premier League match against Bournemouth.

Disasi has faced challenges in securing his favored center-back position this season, often being deployed as a right-back instead. Although he was in the starting lineup for Chelsea’s FA Cup match against Morecambe over the weekend, he endured taunts from opposition fans during the game.

Maresca’s decision to omit Disasi from the squad reportedly followed a conversation between the player and the manager. According to renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano, this exclusion signals that Disasi is likely to leave Chelsea during this transfer window. Romano explained, “Disasi had discussions with the manager today, and I’ve been informed he could be left out of the Chelsea squad tomorrow, with a move expected this month. While Juventus has been linked, no official offer has been made yet.”

Chelsea seems eager to part ways with the defender, and Maresca’s actions reinforce the likelihood of an imminent departure.

Potential Replacements for Axel Disasi

Chelsea has already begun identifying options to reinforce their defense. Marc Guehi, currently playing for Crystal Palace, is said to be the club’s top target. Chelsea is encouraging Guehi to push for a transfer, which could simplify negotiations with Palace.

Another possibility for the Blues is recalling Trevoh Chalobah, though Palace’s manager Oliver Glasner has indicated that Chalobah is content with his current situation.

Should Chelsea fail to secure a high-profile defender, young talent Josh Acheampong may step up. Acheampong is expected to start alongside Levi Colwill in the Bournemouth match, presenting an opportunity for him to solidify his place in the squad.
