Terrible news hits Chelsea fans as Chelsea are on the verge of securing their first sale of the January transfer window, as club representatives arrive in London to finalize a deal for the £72 million-rated star to a rival Premier League club

Representatives from Torino have reportedly traveled to London to engage in discussions with Chelsea regarding the potential transfer of midfielder Cesare Casadei.

Despite earlier expectations that Chelsea’s activity during the January transfer window would be minimal, recent developments indicate otherwise. The club appears poised for both incoming and outgoing transfers. For instance, Trevoh Chalobah has been recalled from his loan at Crystal Palace due to injuries sustained by Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana. Additionally, Chelsea has been linked to several attacking players, including Mathys Tel, Liam Delap, and Alejandro Garnacho, as they consider bolstering their forward options.

Torino Nearing Agreement for Casadei

While Chelsea is exploring new signings, the club is also focusing on offloading several players this month. Cesare Casadei is among those expected to depart.

The 21-year-old Italian midfielder joined Chelsea from Inter Milan in the summer of 2022 for an initial fee of £12.6 million, with the potential for an additional £4.2 million in performance-based add-ons. However, his time at Stamford Bridge has been marked by limited first-team opportunities, prompting loan spells at Reading and Leicester City in the Championship.

Although Casadei had the opportunity to leave Chelsea last summer, he chose to remain at the club. However, this season he has not made any appearances in the Premier League, featuring only five times in the Conference League. Now, with a January transfer seeming increasingly likely, Torino has emerged as the leading contender to secure his signature, ahead of Napoli.

According to reports from Di Marzio, Torino representatives have already submitted an offer of €9 million, which includes additional bonuses and a 40% sell-on clause. The club’s officials are now in London to finalize negotiations with Chelsea. Casadei is reportedly eager to make the move, and talks between the two clubs are said to be nearing completion.

Although Casadei’s tenure at Chelsea has not unfolded as planned, the club could still benefit financially from the deal. The inclusion of the sell-on clause in the agreement means Chelsea might secure a future financial boost if the player’s value increases in subsequent transfers.
