BREAKING NEWS: Live From Old Trafford, Manchester United Move For Everton Centre-Back Jarrad Branthwaite Almost A Done Deal. As It Look A Deal Will Be Reached In Fews Days According To Reports. United Are In Need Of A Centre-Back And It Looks Like United Have Gotten This One Done. Jarrad Branthwaite Move To Manchester United Soon To Become Reality.

Everton Football Club has reportedly set a remarkably high price tag on young defender Jarrad Branthwaite, indicating that they would demand a transfer fee that would rank him among the most expensive centre-backs in the world before they would consider letting him go.

The club, based in Liverpool, is keen on keeping the 21-year-old at Goodison Park. Branthwaite himself is happy to remain with the club, and at the same time, Everton is actively working on securing a new deal for another of their key players, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, as part of a broader strategy to stabilize the team under manager Sean Dyche.

Branthwaite has shown remarkable development in his position, drawing the interest of major clubs, including Manchester United. His recent inclusion in England manager Gareth Southgate’s 33-player training squad for Euro 2024 also underscores his rising profile in international football.

The valuation Everton has placed on Branthwaite echoes the record-breaking fees paid for defenders in recent years, such as the £80 million Manchester United spent on Harry Maguire in 2019—the highest ever for a centre-back. Other similar high-profile transactions include the £77 million Manchester City paid for Josko Gvardiol and the £70 million Chelsea invested in Wesley Fofana.

Despite facing financial challenges and ongoing uncertainty about the club’s ownership, with a potential sale to American investment group 777 Partners possibly not proceeding as planned, Everton maintains that they are not in a position where they need to hastily sell their prized assets. They assert that any deal for Branthwaite would have to come with a significant financial incentive.

Branthwaite, a former Carlisle player and recently named Everton’s Players’ Player of the Year, secured a four-year contract with Everton last October, which shows the club’s commitment to his future.

Concurrently, Everton is negotiating to extend the contract of forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin, whose current agreement expires next summer. They aim to avoid losing the England international on a free transfer, especially after he returned from two injury-plagued seasons to make 39 appearances and score eight goals last season, including a crucial goal in Everton’s 2-0 win against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby.
