BREAKING: Chelsea fans, you won’t believe this! Andrey Santos has ALREADY told Enzo Maresca his BEST position as the Blues’ next big transfer is CONFIRMED!

Andrey Santos has recently revealed the position he prefers to play as Chelsea strategizes for his role within the team’s future plans.

It appears that Chelsea envisions Santos as a key figure under the leadership of their newly appointed head coach, Enzo Maresca, for the upcoming football season.

The talented Brazilian midfielder officially became a Chelsea player in January 2023, although he has yet to make an appearance for the club’s first team. Since joining the Blues, he has spent time on loan at Vasco da Gama and Nottingham Forest. In February 2024, he transitioned to Strasbourg as part of his development journey.

During the summer of 2024, the 20-year-old extended his loan deal with Strasbourg, a club that is also part of the BlueCo ownership group, which includes Chelsea. His performance there has been noteworthy, as he scored eight goals and provided two assists in 20 matches across various competitions.

In July of the previous year, Santos openly discussed his ideal playing position, offering valuable insight into how he might fit into Maresca’s tactical approach. Having participated in Chelsea’s pre-season tour that summer, he expressed confidence in his ability to function as a defensive midfielder.

Speaking with Premier League Brazil, Santos explained: “Maresca adopts a 3-2-5 formation, if I’m not mistaken, with the full-back moving inside. I played in a similar tactical setup under coach Paulo Victor Gomes when representing Brazil’s U-15 and U-17 teams.

“As a defensive midfielder, my role involves controlling the flow of the game from the front. I feel confident and well-adjusted to playing as the first defensive midfielder alongside the full-back. I genuinely enjoy dictating the tempo and rhythm of the match.”
