According to El Nacional, FC Barcelona is reportedly open to the idea of selling Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo, but only if they receive transfer offers that are worth more than €70 million. This decision is being considered as concerns continue to grow within the club about Olmo’s inconsistent performances throughout the current season.
When he joined the team, there were high hopes that the 27-year-old would make a significant and positive impact. However, his time at Barcelona so far has been affected by repeated muscle injuries, which have greatly limited his time on the field. As a result, he has only managed to participate in 35 matches. During those appearances, he scored 11 goals and made 5 assists, which, while respectable, have not lived up to expectations for a player of his profile.
His contributions have especially come under scrutiny in key matches. For instance, his performances in important games such as the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid and the Champions League match against Inter Milan were viewed as disappointing. Furthermore, his visible frustration when being substituted has not gone unnoticed and has reportedly caused concern among the coaching staff.
Despite these issues, manager Hansi Flick is said to still believe in Olmo’s talent and potential to succeed at the club. Nevertheless, some sources within the organization suggest that if Olmo’s inconsistent form continues, the club may seriously consider parting ways with him. Although Olmo himself is keen to remain at Barcelona—he is under contract with the team until the year 2030—his future at the Camp Nou may ultimately depend on whether he can find consistent form and whether other clubs make strong offers for him during the upcoming summer transfer window.
