Cole Palmer Nearing Liverpool Transfer After Completing Medical

Cole Palmer has successfully completed his medical examination with Liverpool, marking a significant step forward in what appears to be an imminent transfer from Chelsea to the Merseyside club. The deal is reportedly close to completion, with both clubs nearly finished with the necessary paperwork. At this stage, the only remaining step is for Palmer to give his final, formal consent to the move before an official announcement can be made.

Palmer originally signed with Chelsea in 2023 after transferring from Manchester City. Since his arrival at Stamford Bridge, the young attacker has quickly made a name for himself, becoming one of the team’s most impactful and reliable offensive players. His standout performances have not gone unnoticed, drawing attention from Liverpool, who are currently under the new management of Dutch coach Arne Slot. Slot and the club’s leadership are eager to bolster their attacking options ahead of the upcoming season, and Palmer is seen as a valuable asset who could contribute significantly.

Even though there is speculation that Palmer may not match the extraordinary numbers he posted last season—27 goals and 15 assists—he is still viewed as a bright talent with immense potential. His ongoing development and skill have even earned him outside consideration for prestigious honors such as the 2025 Ballon d’Or, albeit as an underdog candidate.

Liverpool’s pursuit of Palmer may also be influenced by uncertainties surrounding the futures of some of their current attacking players. There is ongoing speculation that the likes of Darwin Núñez, Luis Díaz, or Federico Chiesa could be on their way out, which may open up space for a new forward. Arne Slot is reported to be a strong admirer of the 22-year-old England international and sees him as a fitting addition to his evolving squad.

From Chelsea’s perspective, the club is believed to be seeking a transfer fee in the region of £85 million for Palmer. However, this figure could be flexible depending on whether they are able to offload other players in their current roster, such as Trevoh Chalobah, João Félix, and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. The resolution of these potential exits could influence how negotiations with Liverpool unfold in the coming days.
