“At last, we have a strategy for him. We have chosen to stay clear of any issues. We devised the idea since the majority of the supporters wanted him to return to the team.-GOOD NEWS: After careful deliberation, the Board decided to do a dramatic U-turn in the transfer of Michael Olise, which was a stunning decision regarding Mason Greenwood’s return.

The potential move of Mason Greenwood to Benfica has encountered a significant hurdle, with various top European clubs expressing interest in the Manchester United forward. Greenwood, who showcased his talent during a loan spell at Getafe in La Liga, tallying 10 goals and six assists in 36 appearances, is poised to return to England.

However, with Greenwood’s future at Manchester United uncertain and his contract set to expire in June 2025, club chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe faces pressure to offload the Englishman this summer to avoid a bargain deal next year. Despite Getafe’s desire to re-sign Greenwood, they are unable to meet Manchester United’s valuation, which ranges between £34-40 million.

Alongside Getafe, several other European clubs are vying for the 22-year-old’s signature. Initially, there were reports linking Benfica with a move for Greenwood, but recent updates from Portuguese sources suggest otherwise. Benfica has no intentions of bolstering their attacking lineup with Greenwood and has not initiated talks with Manchester United regarding a potential transfer. Financial constraints also hinder Benfica’s ability to compete with other interested parties.

Among the suitors, Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund have shown interest in Greenwood’s impressive performances, with both clubs contemplating offers. While Atletico Madrid was initially leading the chase, their pursuit has slowed, paving the way for Juventus to emerge as frontrunners in securing Greenwood’s services.
