According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Newcastle United of the Premier League is actively pursuing two key Barcelona players: forward Ferran Torres and defender Andreas Christensen.
Newcastle United, backed by substantial investment from Saudi Arabian stakeholders, is poised to make a significant splash in the upcoming summer transfer window. Their strategy includes substantial financial outlays aimed at recruiting top-tier talent.
Andreas Christensen, highly respected from his time at Chelsea, is regarded as a pivotal addition for Newcastle’s defense. Reports from England indicate that Newcastle views Christensen as a crucial figure capable of fortifying their backline. The club had previously contemplated securing Christensen’s services during the winter transfer window, though the potential move was vetoed by both the player and then-Barcelona coach Xavi.
Meanwhile, Ferran Torres, formerly with Manchester City, remains in Newcastle’s sights as another primary target. Despite currently playing in Spain, Torres’ impactful stint in the Premier League has not been forgotten. Newcastle has already tabled an offer for Torres this season, proposing an initial payment of €15 million along with an additional €5 million in potential bonuses. This offer, however, pales in comparison to Barcelona’s original investment of €55 million plus €10 million in add-ons when they acquired Torres, who remains contracted with Barcelona until 2027 following his January 2022 move.

Speculation even suggested a potential swap deal involving Bruno Guimaraes alongside additional financial compensation, though this proposition failed to progress further.
