HERE WE GO: Manchester United SET to complete the signing of another ‘fantastic player’ and are ready to challenge for titles- Medicals have been booked and is scheduled for the next few days- ‘ Here we go’ confirmed

Manchester United needs to strengthen the quality and depth of their striking options following Anthony Martial’s departure.

According to media reports, Manchester United is considering a discounted deal to acquire Ivan Toney from Brentford.

GMS indicates that both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Premier League striker. However, both clubs are hoping Brentford will lower their high asking price to finalize the transfer. Manchester United is reportedly willing to agree on a deal worth around £40 million for Toney.

Despite this, Brentford, led by Thomas Frank, is holding firm on their £60 million valuation for their team captain and is not inclined to offer any discounts.

Historically, Manchester United has often paid premium prices to secure their targets. However, the situation has changed under the new ownership of INEOS. The club is now more focused on financial sustainability, seeking cost-effective deals and even attempting to negotiate a lower fee for Branthwaite.

In the previous season, Rasmus Hojlund emerged as United’s top scorer with 10 goals in 30 Premier League matches. While the Danish forward shows promise, he still needs time to fully integrate into the team. Currently, manager Erik ten Hag lacks a dedicated striker to support Hojlund.

Given these circumstances, should Manchester United pursue Ivan Toney? The English striker scored four goals in 16 Premier League starts last season and is currently participating in the European Championships.
