HERE WE GO: Club has agreed to lower the transfer fee of 24yr top talent, paperwork being processed, Announcement tomorrow morning
Manchester United’s actions in the transfer market extend beyond acquiring new players; they’re also exploring the possibility of bringing back a familiar face, Sofyan Amrabat, to Old Trafford. The Moroccan star of the 2022 World Cup had a loan stint with the club last season.
The Red Devils had the option to make Amrabat’s move permanent for £16.8 million, but they chose not to activate this clause. Despite this, Manchester United remains keen on securing the 27-year-old’s services, aiming to negotiate a deal at a reduced price.
As reported by Italian media outlet La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Fiorentina, Amrabat’s parent club, is now looking to either lower their asking price for him or find another Premier League team interested in the Moroccan international. Amrabat himself is eager to continue playing in the English Premier League.
Manchester United is leading the race to sign the versatile midfielder, who has expressed a desire to stay with the club. This puts the Red Devils in a strong position during negotiations with Fiorentina.
Although Amrabat wasn’t a regular starter under Erik ten Hag last season, making just 17 starts, he showcased his abilities towards the end of the campaign. His flexibility was evident as he even filled in at left-back when Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia were unavailable.
Signing Amrabat permanently would be a strategic move for Manchester United. He offers a cost-effective solution for bolstering their midfield and his versatility is a valuable asset. Erik ten Hag appears to recognize the benefits of retaining such a player.
The crucial task now is for Manchester United to agree on a fee with Fiorentina, who are open to selling. Securing this transfer promptly would enable the club to focus on strengthening other areas of the squad, positioning them well for the remainder of the transfer window.
