“This are the target he has to meet. We told him the year we want him to win the Premier League. If he doesn’t meet up with this target, we will sack him”-Man Utd CEO Omar Berrada has told staff what year they aim to win Premier League title again.

Manchester United is setting its sights on reclaiming the Premier League title as part of its grand vision to commemorate the club’s 150th anniversary with a significant achievement. Despite being the most decorated club in Premier League history, with 13 championships to its name, the Red Devils have not secured the league title since 2013. Over the last decade, Manchester City’s dominance under the stewardship of Pep Guardiola has shifted the balance of power in English football, with City claiming six out of the last seven titles.

In an effort to change this, United has brought in new leadership and is working toward returning to its glory days. Omar Berrada, a former Manchester City executive now tasked with spearheading United’s resurgence, recently outlined the club’s ambitions during a gathering at Old Trafford. According to reports from The Athletic, Berrada stressed that Manchester United’s primary goal is to lift the Premier League trophy again by 2028, aligning with their 150th anniversary celebrations. This vision extends beyond the men’s team, as there are also high hopes for the women’s team to clinch their first league title by the same milestone year.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, one of United’s co-owners, has previously discussed similar objectives for the club. Earlier in the year, Ratcliffe spoke of a three-year roadmap designed to restore Manchester United to the summit of English football. He was cautious in managing expectations, acknowledging the challenges and frustrations of the past 11 years but assuring supporters that they would witness tangible progress. Ratcliffe emphasized the need for patience during this rebuilding phase, underlining that the process would take time as the club works toward reclaiming its status as one of football’s elite.

Ratcliffe summed up the situation by stating, “Manchester United is one of the biggest football clubs in the world. It deserves to be playing the best football in the world, but unfortunately, it hasn’t been doing that for the past decade.”
