Amazing news for Chelsea fans as Chelsea are ready to capitalize on an opportunity to secure their own version of Erling Haaland from Dortmund, with discussions underway regarding a potential £84.5m transfer

Chelsea are currently engaged in active, behind-the-scenes negotiations about the possibility of signing Borussia Dortmund’s talented winger, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.

The London club is in search of a new left-sided winger during this transfer window, with Bynoe-Gittens emerging as a prime target alongside Manchester United’s young star, Alejandro Garnacho. However, it remains uncertain whether Chelsea will move forward with their plans in January or hold off until the summer transfer window.

Bynoe-Gittens has a history connected to English football, having spent part of his youth career in West London before moving to Reading and Manchester City. He eventually joined Borussia Dortmund in 2020. Now, five years later, the 20-year-old winger boasts an estimated market value of €100 million (£84.5 million).

The former German international striker Karl-Heinz Riedle has spoken highly of Bynoe-Gittens’ potential, drawing comparisons to football stars like Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland. Speaking to The Sun, Riedle said: “He has the potential to become the next Sancho, Haaland, or Bellingham. He is incredibly quick, thrives in one-on-one situations, and has a powerful finishing ability. He possesses all the qualities needed for success and is dedicated to improving every aspect of his game.”

Bynoe-Gittens has solidified his role as a regular starter for Borussia Dortmund after overcoming periods of inconsistency last season. Under the leadership of Nuri Şahin, he has thrived and is widely regarded as one of Europe’s brightest young talents. Many experts believe a move to a high-profile club is imminent.

If Chelsea were to finalize a deal for Bynoe-Gittens during this transfer window, it would give manager Enzo Maresca a versatile and explosive attacking option. However, the club might choose to delay their pursuit until the summer. The winger’s remarkable performance this season—scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in 26 appearances—has only intensified the interest from Premier League clubs eager to secure his signature.
