‘Complete liability’: Chelsea fans blame just one player for Gvardiol’s equaliser

Manchester City managed to level the score just before halftime in their match against Chelsea. The goal came after Matheus Nunes took a shot, which was initially saved by Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez. However, Sanchez was unable to prevent Josko Gvardiol from pouncing on the rebound and tapping the ball into the net.
At first glance, it appeared that Gvardiol was clearly in an offside position when the goal was scored. Surprisingly, though, he was kept onside by Chelsea’s Noni Madueke, who not only failed to properly position himself defensively but also did not effectively mark Manchester City’s left-back.
Despite scoring an early goal, Madueke’s performance in the first half left much to be desired. He struggled both in attack and defense, frustrating Chelsea fans who were vocal about their disappointment:
“How can Madueke fail to provide any defensive support while also keeping the entire opposition team onside in the same match? Take him off at halftime – he’s a complete liability in this form.”
“Madueke kept City onside trying to mark Gvardiol, yet still allowed Gvardiol to outrun him and score. How does that even happen?”
“Noni Madueke kept everyone onside and didn’t bother to check where the defensive line was even once…”
