Liverpool Face Fight To Appoint New Manager As ‘Xabi Alonso Blow’ Looms – ‘Duo Set For Interviews’”.

Reports from Footballwave suggest that Liverpool is eyeing potential successors to Jurgen Klopp, with Ruben Amorim and Julian Nagelsmann emerging as frontrunners for the managerial position.

Ruben Amorim, the current manager of Sporting Lisbon, has garnered attention for his impressive performance this season, leading Sporting to the top of the Portuguese top flight. At 39 years old, Amorim’s success in developing the team in recent years has piqued Liverpool’s interest. Sporting’s advancement to the last-16 stage of the Europa League further adds to his appeal, with expectations mounting for him to be interviewed for the Liverpool job.

Meanwhile, Julian Nagelsmann, who previously managed Bayern Munich and now leads the German national team, is also in contention. Despite his contract with the national team set to expire after the upcoming European Championships, Nagelsmann’s availability for pre-season training poses a potential obstacle, as he wouldn’t be free until July.

Although Tottenham’s Ange Postecoglou and Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi were initially considered, they are not deemed viable candidates by Liverpool. Postecoglou is expected to decline any offers to leave Tottenham this summer, while De Zerbi isn’t ranked as highly as Alonso, Nagelsmann, or Amorim.

Liverpool’s recent 1-0 victory against Nottingham Forest propelled them to the top of the Premier League table, adding to the anticipation surrounding their upcoming Europa League clash against Sparta Praha in the last-16 stage.
