Pedri and Lamine Yamal are urging Barcelona’s management to sign this world-class player who will end the dominance of one of the untouchable players in the starting lineup

Barcelona is still actively competing for all possible titles this season. However, inside the team’s dressing room, there is growing discussion about the need to bring in a more mobile and dynamic striker—one who aligns better with the fast-paced playing style of the club’s emerging young stars.

According to the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, two of Barcelona’s most influential young players, Pedri and Lamine Yamal, strongly believe that the addition of a forward with greater movement, agility, and link-up play would significantly enhance their individual performances while also improving the team’s overall attacking play.

While Robert Lewandowski remains a highly prolific goal scorer and has maintained an impressive scoring record this season, his style of play has raised some concerns among his teammates. In certain matches, his lack of mobility has been noticeable, leading Pedri and Yamal—who are both instrumental in creating goal-scoring opportunities—to feel that a more involved and fluid striker would better complement their creativity. They reportedly prefer a forward who actively contributes to build-up play instead of predominantly positioning himself inside the penalty box, waiting for goal-scoring chances.

Their ideal candidate for this role? Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak. The Swedish international is known for his excellent technical ability, intelligent movement, and strong link-up play—qualities that would seamlessly integrate with Barcelona’s evolving attacking style. However, acquiring Isak would be a complex and challenging task due to his high market value. Despite this, club president Joan Laporta is said to be interested in exploring the possibility of signing him.

Although Lewandowski continues to be a key figure in Barcelona’s attacking setup, the club is open to evaluating offers for him during the upcoming summer transfer window. Given his age and high salary, Barcelona may consider parting ways with him if the right deal presents itself, allowing them to move forward with a long-term strategic overhaul of their attack.

With Pedri and Yamal pushing for a tactical shift, the club’s sporting management—led by Deco and Laporta—is actively monitoring potential options in the transfer market. However, financial constraints will play a decisive role in determining whether Barcelona can secure a marquee signing. If the club manages to generate sufficient funds through player sales, strengthening the striker position could become a top priority for the team’s future ambitions.
